Over the 6 years the Programme has been in effect (2015-2020), a total of 61 Erasmus+ CBHE projects involving Kazakh HEIs have been funded. The total amount of the grant for these projects is more than 52 million euros.
54 Kazakh universities from 16 regions of the country are involved in CBHE projects implemented in Kazakhstan. Four universities of Kazakhstan act as coordinators/grant holders of the CBHE projects: Karaganda Medical University (2 projects), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (2 projects), S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (1 project), South Kazakhstan State University (1 project).
Call for proposals to participate in the Programme actions is announced annually, and the most relevant and well-designed projects are selected for funding. One of the criteria is the alignment with national/regional priorities. The national priorities are defined by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Commission. This approach ensures that projects meet the needs and comply with current trends of the HE development in Kazakhstan.
